PREP ROUNDUP : Kennedy Girls Clinch Fourth Straight League Soccer Title

Laurie Fritz and Jamie Pietranowicz each scored two goals to lead the Kennedy girls’ soccer team to a 6-0 victory over visiting Bolsa Grande Monday, clinching Kennedy’s fourth consecutive Garden Grove League title.
The Fighting Irish (15-4-1, 11-0) increased their league unbeaten streak to 44 games.
In Sea View League girls’ soccer:
Irvine 3, Tustin 1--Shannon Filbin scored twice and Kristen Wede once for Irvine (12-6-1, 8-2-1), which moves into a second-place tie with Newport Harbor. April Earl scored for Tustin (1-9-2 in league).
In Century League boys’ soccer:
El Modena 3, Orange 2--Greg Tsipkis scored three first-half goals and Nick Purdom had two assists for visiting El Modena (7-7-1, 4-5). Eduardo Rodriguez scored two second-half goals for Orange (2-5-2 in league), including one on a penalty kick.
Foothill 2, Canyon 2--Casey Wilson and Steve Maynard each scored for Canyon (15-5-4, 5-2-2), which remained in first place. Matt Weibert and Steve Patterson each scored for Foothill (6-7-7, 2-3-4).
In Sunset League boys’ basketball:
Fountain Valley 59, Edison 55--Danny Hoppie made four free throws in the final minute to help Fountain Valley (18-5, 10-2) clinch a playoff spot. Brandon Leimbach scored 24 points for the Barons.
Micah Kroeger scored 21 points for the Chargers (13-8, 6-6).
