Golden West Wins, Clinches Conference Title

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Golden West made 35 of 39 free throws to beat Saddleback, 91-68, and clinch its fifth consecutive Orange Empire Conference women’s basketball title Friday at Golden West.
It was the 67th consecutive home victory for the Rustlers (28-4, 10-1 in conference), the state’s No. 2 team.
Kristin Brun and Nicole Quinn each were eight of eight on free throws. Julie Murdent, who had a game-high 18 points, made four of four. Murdent also had 11 rebounds.
Amy Feniello had a team-high 14 points for Saddleback (7-16, 2-9).
