Echo of Yesterday Wins Feature Race

Echo of Yesterday, ridden by Chris McCarron, won a stretch duel with favored Bossanova to capture the $66,100 feature race at Santa Anita on Thursday.
Echo of Yesterday, the second choice in the wagering, finished a half-length in front of Bossanova, ridden by Eddie Delahoussaye.
His Legacy was third, another 1 1/4 lengths behind in the one-mile race for 4-year-olds and up.
The race was scheduled for the turf, but was switched to the main track because of rain.
Echo of Yesterday, a 5-year-old gelded son of Pirate’s Bounty, carried 115 pounds and was clocked in 1:34.
Echo of Yesterday paid $7.20, $3.20 and $2.60. Bossanova, who carried 115, returned $3.20 and $2.40. His Legacy, ridden by Alex Solis and carrying 114, paid $2.80.
Eight California-bred runners contested the race.
Echo of Yesterday, trained by Ron Ellis, has won seven of 12 career races.
