BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJORS : Jordan Finally Hits a Home Run

Michael Jordan listened to some advice from Chicago White Sox teammate Frank Thomas, then finally hit a ball over the fence on his last swing of batting practice. It was the first time since camp began a week ago that the 6-foot-6 Jordan had cleared the fence.
Jordan was asked if hitting a homer compared to making a three-pointer in basketball.
“It’s something like that,” he said. “But I can hit a three-pointer. And quite often.”
Jordan will face live pitching from major leaguers for the first time today.
