COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Simidzija Leads SCC Women Past Concordia

Sanja Simidzija had 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead Southern California College to a 60-54 victory over Concordia in a Golden State Athletic Conference women’s basketball game Friday night at Southern California College.
Heather Brannan added 15 points for SCC (23-7, 6-4).
Stacey Giem scored 18 points, including five three-pointers, and Gitte Mejer added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Concordia (15-12, 5-5). Southern California College will meet Point Loma Nazarene at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Southern California College in the first round of the playoffs.
In Golden State Athletic Conference men’s basketball:
Concordia 98, Southern California College 87--Craig Martin scored 21 points and seven rebounds for Concordia (17-13, 5-7). Danin Bryant scored 32 points and Eric Carmichael had 30, including six three-pointers, for host SCC (14-16, 3-9). Concordia made seven of 10 three-point baskets.
In Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s volleyball:
Loyola Marymount 3, UC Irvine 0--Greg Sternchak had eight kills for host UC Irvine (1-10, 0-9).
In women’s gymnastics:
Fullerton second--No. 20 Cal State Fullerton lost to No. 4 Michigan, 194.10-192.05, at Fullerton but defeated Sacramento State (186.75) and San Jose State (181.10).
Beth Wymer of Michigan was the all-around winner with 39.20 points and also won the uneven bars and floor exercise.
