FILLMORE : District Announces Staff Restructuring
- Share via
Fillmore school officials announced a major administrative restructuring last week, shortly after the state released the results of a new test that ranked the district’s students among the lowest in Ventura County.
“Essentially, we are calling ourselves to action,” Assistant Supt. Mario Contini said. Contini will take over as the district’s top administrator this summer.
The shuffle, effective July 1, will elevate Piru Elementary School Principal Jane Kampbell to assistant superintendent. Marsha Porter, principal at Sespe Elementary School, will take over Kampbell’s job. Susan Dollar, now a teacher at Sespe, will become the Sespe principal.
Contini said he chose Kampbell as his second-in-command, rather than an outsider, because of the excellent job she had done at Piru. In last spring’s statewide exams, Piru fourth-graders achieved some of the highest scores in the district on the reading test and even surpassed statewide averages.
Porter will move to Piru, he said, to provide continuity and allow the school to continue its improvements.
