NEW YORK — Guard John Starks of the New York Knicks probably will sit out the rest of the regular season after undergoing knee surgery Monday.
Starks, who suffered torn cartilage in his left knee last Wednesday against Atlanta, can begin running in about six weeks, team doctor Norman Scott said.
Starks is the Knicks’ second-leading scorer, averaging 19 points. New York leads the Atlantic Division by five games with a 42-19 record.
