NEWPORT BEACH — A memorial service will be held Friday for Justice Henry T. Moore Jr., a member of the 4th District Court of Appeal in Santa Ana who died last week after a long battle with leukemia.
Moore, 61, was known as a legal scholar who inspired his colleagues and friends by continuing to work up until the time of his death. Those who knew Moore said he was driven by his love for the law and his special interest in child welfare and probate law.
He is credited with rulings that ensure that children’s best interests are given primary attention by the courts.
Moore’s wife, Lynda, and his three children ask that donations to the cancer center and oncology ward at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange be made in lieu of flowers, said William R. Ball, staff attorney at the appellate court.
Friday’s memorial service will be at 1 p.m. at Pacific View Memorial Park, 3500 Pacific View Drive, Newport Beach.
