South Gate 2, Fremont 0--Pitcher David Coria threw a three-hitter, striking out one, as South Gate squeaked by Fremont in a Southeastern Conference game Tuesday at South Gate Park.
The Rams scored one run in the fourth on Damon Mojarro’s sacrifice fly and one in the fifth on Edgar Marquez’s run-scoring single.
Fremont had the bases loaded with one out in the fifth, but Ernie Sandoval grounded into a double play to end the threat.
Sandoval gave up only one earned run on five hits and three walks. He struck out three.
