HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL ROUNDUP : Hot Rio Mesa Romps Twice Past Bell-Jeff

Rio Mesa feasted off Bell-Jeff pitching Saturday, scoring 41 runs in a nonleague doubleheader at Rio Mesa. The Spartans won the first game, 11-4, behind Steve Arneson, who had three hits and four runs batted in, and Donald DiDomizio, who added four RBIs.
Rio Mesa pounded out 25 hits in the second game, a 30-3 romp. Marcus Yasutake had three hits including a home run and five RBIs. Vince Roman also had five RBIs for the Spartans (11-5).
Agoura 1, Lompoc 0--Craig Gladstone (1-1) scattered seven hits over seven innings, striking out four, and Kevin Sass singled home Chris Cicuto with the nonleague game’s only run in the third inning at Agoura. Sass, Cicuto and Matt Gershon each had two hits for Agoura (3-9).
Hueneme 5, St. Ignatius 4--Josh Towers’ two-out triple drove in Manuel Aranda from first base with two out in the top of the seventh in the third-place game of the San Luis Obispo tournament as the Vikings improved to 8-8.
Alemany 2, Bloomington 1--Rex Supa slugged a solo home run in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie as Alemany (11-6) gained fifth place at the San Luis Obispo tournament. Jerry Najar (1-0) got the victory with two innings of one-hit relief.
