NORTHRIDGE — A Van Nuys woman was killed when a motorist ran a red light and smashed into the car that she and her husband were riding in, police said.
Maria Alcarz, 28, and her husband were attempting to turn left at the intersection of Reseda and Roscoe boulevards Saturday about 9 p.m. when an auto driven by Francisco Campa, 31, struck them, police said.
Alcarz was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where she died an hour later, said Officer Ralph Kemptner of the Valley Traffic Division.
Raul Alcarz, who was driving, was treated and released. Campa was not injured.
As of late Sunday, no charges had been filed against Campa, Kemptner said.
