GARDEN GROVE — Two 17-year-old boys were shot Monday in what police believe was a gang-related attack.
The victims, whose names were not released, were taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange following the 3:55 p.m. shooting in the 12600 block of Morningside Avenue, said Garden Grove Police Sgt. Dale Farley.
Two men riding in what the victims described as a gold-colored sedan are being sought for questioning in the case, he said.
Police Sgt. Jack Ray, who is investigating the shooting, said attackers drove by “two or three times” before one of them “jumped out and started shooting” at the victims, who were standing on the street. The car then sped eastbound toward Fairview Street, police said.
One of the victims was shot in the head. Both were in serious condition, Ray said.
Police Sgt. Joe Johnson said the shooting appeared “gang-related, but we don’t have any evidence right now that would lead to a specific person.”
