Dow Corning Cites Bankruptcy Option: The company might consider filing for Bankruptcy Court protection should too many women opt out of a proposed $4-billion settlement of silicone breast-implant liability cases, a spokesman said. Plaintiffs have until June 17 to accept the deal or decide to pursue their own cases. The settlement covers Dow Corning Corp. and other manufacturers of the implants, which were used by millions of women.
