O.C. PLATFORM : A Job for Parents

His parents should know him far better than any schoolteacher, counselor or administrator. Why then assign the primary responsibility for his upbringing to the school?
As a mother of five, I am appalled by the lack of commitment and direct involvement on the part of today’s parents in the raising of their children.
This deficiency of dedicated parents who are committed to raising their children as decent citizens with respect for themselves and for the rights and property of others spans all economic levels.
We need more parents to communicate with their children. The responsibility is ours--not some external agency. Our future lies in strong supportive families.
