LANCASTER — Two teen-agers were arrested on suspicion of car theft after a short pursuit in Lancaster on Sunday morning, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Michael Harris, 18, and a 16-year-old were traveling in a stolen 1985 Cadillac near 10th Street East and Avenue I about 10:15 a.m. when sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop them, authorities said.
Deputies chased the car for about two minutes, but called off the chase to avoid injury when the suspects sped into a residential neighborhood. The car was spotted several minutes later and the suspects were arrested, deputies said.
Deputies found no weapons, but recovered two screwdrivers and pawn slips from the car, which deputies say might have been used in burglaries.
