Soligen Technologies Inc., a Northridge producer of metal castings for machine parts, said it has acquired Santa Ana-based A-RPM Corp., an aluminum foundry.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Soligen manufactures machinery that translates a design on a computer screen into a ceramic casting, which is then used to form objects from molten metal. In the past, the company has produced small numbers of metal parts by subcontracting with foundries. Now, with the acquisition of A-RPM, Soligen will begin production of metal parts on its own.
A-RPM has annual revenues of $1.5 million. For the fiscal fourth quarter that ended March 31, Soligen had a loss of $604,447 compared to a loss of $49,860 for the same quarter a year earlier. The recent loss was on a 85% plunge in revenue to $87,251.
