A 19-year-old Ventura man was shot in the arm during an altercation with four other teen-agers, Ventura police said Friday.
James D. Bolden was treated for the wound at Ventura County Medical Center.
Lt. Don Arth said a group of youths walking on the sidewalk in the 1600 block of Ocean Avenue approached Bolden and a friend, who were standing on a porch about 10:24 p.m. Thursday.
“Apparently there was some conversation,” Arth said.
One of the youths pulled out a pistol and shot several rounds at Bolden and his friend, striking Bolden in the arm.
The suspects fled in a silver Toyota and have not been apprehended. But Arth said police found a stolen vehicle matching the description of their car at Olive and Center streets.
