FULLERTON — A “street hoops” competition will be held downtown today and Sunday to raise money for the Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention Center and Drug Abuse Resistance Education, or DARE, programs in Fullerton and Brea.
Street hoops, or three-on-three basketball, will be played throughout the two days at various locations between Harbor Boulevard and Lemon Street and Commonwealth and Chapman avenues. The public is encouraged to participate in the event, which is the first of its kind in Orange County, organizers said.
Slam dunk, three-point shooting, free throwing and dribbling contests also will be held for adults and children.
The North Orange County Exchange Club and the city are sponsoring the event.
