Monsieur Hire (Bravo Monday at 6 p.m.) is the underrated 1989 film that stars Michel Blanc as a mysterious bachelor-voyeur and Sandrine Bonnaire as the sensual young woman upon whom he preys. They are luminous enough to warrant a watch, but this film is not in the same league with the Claude Chabrol films it recalls.
