BankAmerica Names Mutual Fund Overseer: In a move designed to better police its $9-billion mutual fund affiliate, BankAmerica Corp., appointed in-house trouble-shooter Lewis Teel to oversee the operation. Teel, a 25-year veteran of the San Francisco-based bank company, is an executive vice president in charge of regulatory compliance and risk trading at the bank. In that job, he ensures regulatory compliance at the bank’s 40 trading locations around the world. In his new role, Teel, 54, fills a position left vacant since November, when Kevin Ferrell resigned.
