Talks to End Nigerian Oil Strike Stall

LAGOS — Nigerian oil workers walked out of a meeting with government officials Friday, abruptly stalling an effort to end a pro-democracy strike which has crippled most business activity.
Officials of the main oil union NUPENG, which has been on strike for three weeks, said their representatives quit the talks when authorities failed to produce the union’s missing general-secretary, Frank Kokori.
Kokori has not been seen since July 6 when his family said he was picked up by security agents. His release is seen as key to ending the strikes.
