Angler Doesn’t Give Up, Lands a Lunker Catfish
- Share via
Henry Yee got mad, but then he got even. Sort of.
Fishing for catfish at Irvine Lake on a recent morning, he took his eye off his pole and it was promptly pulled overboard by what was believed to be a large catfish.
Yee went home for another rod, went back to the same location at the lake, and pulled out a 24-pound channel catfish.
Catfish angling remains superb at the lake, with several fish tipping the scales at more than 10 pounds.
