Coach: Lance Stewart (third year).
1993: 31-3 overall, 12-2 in the Sea View League. Won second consecutive Division I State and Southern Section championships.
Key returners: Kelly Campbell, 6-1, setter, Jr.; Ali Havriluk, 5-9, outside hitter, Sr.; Wrenna Johnson, 5-10, middle blocker, Sr.; Kathryn Rice, 5-10, outside hitter, Jr.
Key newcomers: Julie Coombe, 5-10, outside hitter, Jr.; Melissa Ford, 5-10, setter, Jr.; Doris Hawley, 6-1, middle blocker, Jr.; Jenny Hover, 5-8, outside hitter, Sr.; Tia Lambert, 5-10, setter, Sr.; Melissa Street, 6-0, middle blocker, Sr.
Outlook: The Sea Kings lost four of the top players in the county--Kristen Campbell, Kim Coleman, Caitlin Pickart, Jennifer Stroffe--to graduation, but Stewart isn’t overly concerned. “We’re not as set at the beginning as in the last two years, but those were special seasons,” he said. “We’re not real good right now, but we can become a really good team at the end of the season.” Kelly Campbell will take over at setter and Hawley, a transfer from San Diego, should make an impact.
