LOS ALAMITOS : Dead Heat for Avison and Down With Debt

Down With Debt and Avison dead-heated for the victory in the $103,000 Vessels Maturity at Los Alamitos on Friday night.

Avison took the early lead, with world champion Refrigerator and Down With Debt close behind. Refrigerator finished a nose back in third. The winning time for the 400 yards was 19.67 seconds.

By winning the Vessels Maturity, Avison and Down With Debt each berths to the Dec. 17 Champion of Champions, where they might meet Refrigerator again.

Refrigerator, Down With Debt and Avison faced each other earlier in the year in the Go Man Go Handicap. Down With Debt beat Avison by a nose, with Refrigerator finishing fourth.
