CBS Buys Two Stations: Seeking to replace affiliates lost to the Fox network, CBS Inc. said it will buy two television stations for a total $46 million in cash. The company said it will buy WGPR-TV in Detroit from WGPR Inc. for $24 million, and WVEU-TV in Atlanta from Broadcast Corp. of Georgia for $22 million. The sales are subject to regulatory approvals and customary conditions, CBS said. As previously reported, WJBK-TV in Detroit and WAGA-TV in Atlanta were among the eight affiliates CBS lost in May when New World Communications Group Inc. aligned several of its stations with News Corp.’s Fox network.
