Eight top managers and administrators at Palos Verdes Estates City Hall will get 3% raises.
The raises were approved 4 to 0 Tuesday by the City Council, with Councilman Michael Moody absent. A city report said the managers’ raises are merited given the city’s well-managed finances.
Police Chief Gary Johansen will now earn nearly $75,000 a year, and the stable manager could earn close to $33,000. Others receiving raises include the city clerk, the finance director and the city manager’s secretary. The raises are retroactive to July 1.
Most city employees got 3% pay increases earlier this year.
