The city will celebrate its history with entertainment and family events at the 30th annual Heritage Festival tonight and Saturday.
The festivities begin at 7:30 tonight with a Casino Night at the Placentia Round Table Women’s Club, 901 N. Bradford Ave. For $25 per person or $40 per couple, those attending receive $200 in gambling scrip to use at blackjack, roulette and craps tables, with proceeds going to Rotary Club college scholarships.
The festival, themed “Placentia--The Dream Is Alive,” continues at 7 a.m. Saturday with a pancake breakfast at Kraemer Memorial Park, Chapman and Bradford avenues. The Chamber of Commerce will host the event, which begins at 7 a.m. and has a $3 admission charge.
The park is also a good vantage point for the Heritage Parade, which begins at 10 a.m. at Kraemer and Madison avenues and wends its way past the park. At Bradford Park, festival events will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
