I am at a loss to comprehend the rationale behind the “back-to-basics” school opposition.
The opposition seems to center around the fact that because some parents are not sufficiently attentive to their child’s educational nurturing they will not permit those parents who are attentive to structure a curriculum to fit their own children’s needs. Did I get that right?
On the other hand, using reverse logic, the attentive parents must permit the inattentive parents to structure the curriculum to which the attentive parents must then submit. Did I get that right also?
How does it work one way but not the other?
