Bank’s Economic Forecast Due: First Interstate Bank’s annual economic forecast about the performance of the California and U.S. economies will be released Tuesday. A recent upbeat economic report from the UCLA Business Forecasting Project found that California is staging a faster-than-expected recovery, albeit an uneven one. However, that study predicted that structural changes in the economy will continue to roil the state’s job market for several years. In another report, the Palo Alto-based Center for Continuing Study of the California Economy predicted that the state could add 310,000 jobs a year by 2005, a rate of growth that would outpace the nation’s.
