Orange County leads other Southern California counties in the number of court-ordered child support payments it received last year.
County officials collected half of all child support payment orders, according to the group Children Now. The statewide average was 40.1%.
Orange County had the seventh-best child-support recovery rate in the state.

A progressive dinner at various Laguna Beach restaurants will start at 6 p.m.
The three-course dinner will benefit the Laguna Playhouse. Diners will change restaurants as they move from course to course.
Among the restaurants participating in the event are Five Feet, Las Brisas, Partners Bistro, Sorrento Grille, Aegean Cafe, Claes’ Seafood Etc. and Mark’s.
