Look for Polly Anthony to become the only female president of a major record label. (Sylvia Rhone serves as chairman/CEO of Elektra Entertainment.) Insiders say she will be appointed president of Sony’s 550 label (Celine Dion, Des’ree). Anthony has spent 16 years within the group of labels Sony purchased from CBS in 1988. She began her career as a secretary, rising to senior vice president of promotion in 1990. She was appointed general manager when the 550 label was launched in 1993.
