Carolco to Make Interest Payments: The movie producer, which has been struggling to raise cash, said it will pay interest on some of its subordinated notes and senior notes. The payments were due Oct. 15, though Carolco was allowed a 30-day grace period. Japan’s Pioneer, Carolco’s largest shareholder, agreed to advance the company as much as $8 million in license fees. Carolco also sold its film “Showgirls” to France’s Chargeurs in exchange for production costs spent to date. North American distribution rights have just been acquired by MGM/UA.
