Development: OK of Apartments

Your article on Sunday, Nov. 6, “Panel OKs Apartment Complex Near Tribal Springs” was nearly correct, with the exception of two details. There has been a change of heart by the Tongva Tribal Council. Martin Alcala, Tongva Tribal Council chairman, rescinded the tribe’s support given to Barrington Plaza Ltd.
Also missing from your report was that Councilman Marvin Braude, in whose district the Barrington Plaza Project is situated, gave an impassioned plea to the committee to disapprove the project on the grounds that it would exacerbate an already terrible traffic problem in West Los Angeles, specifically at Wilshire and Barrington.
