MISSION VIEJO — Five members of a Lake Forest family were injured Tuesday when their pickup truck collided with a car turning left, police said.
Salvador Hernandez Vasquez, 36, was traveling north on Marguerite Parkway with his wife and three children in the truck cab just after 5:30 p.m., police said, when Clyde Cooley, 84, of Mission Viejo, traveling south on Marguerite, tried to turn left onto Via Florecer and collided with the pickup.
Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Rex Hatch said that all five members of the Vasquez family suffered minor to moderate injuries, mostly broken bones and lacerations, none of which were thought to be life-threatening.
Vasquez was driving with a suspended driver’s license, Hatch said, and the children were not wearing safety belts or restraints.
Cooley was not injured.
