Regarding Roger Hurst’s uninformed reaction to Tim Lucas’ remarks about Rhino Home Video’s Elvira releases (Letters, Dec. 11):
The truth is, film buffs and collectors are the main audience for these ignored-by-the-mainstream horror films of the ‘50s.
Having Elvira’s face superimposed over one-quarter of the screen, cracking insipid jokes, is an insult to the viewer as well as to the film.
