CYPRESS : Fleeing Men Held in Armed Robbery
- Share via
Two 21-year-old men were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery early Friday after they were seen fleeing from the crime scene, authorities said.
A Cypress police officer on duty saw Jerry Karl Sims and Anthony Eugene Cooley, both 21, running into an apartment complex at the same time he heard a radio report that a convenience store in the 5000 block of Lincoln Avenue had been robbed, according to police Sgt. Larry Jordan. The apartment complex was about a quarter of a block north of the convenience store, Jordan said.
La Palma and Cypress police surrounded the apartment complex and arrested both men about 2:30 a.m. with the assistance of police dogs, Peterson said. Nobody was injured during the arrest, and police say the stolen money was recovered.
