Kahn Start-Up Buys Borland Products: A new company headed by Philippe Kahn, the founder of Borland International Inc., has acquired Borland’s consumer software products, Sidekick and Dashboard, Borland said. Terms were not disclosed. Kahn, who stepped down last month as Borland’s chief executive, will remain chairman of Borland. And Borland will take a minority stake in the new consumer products company, called Starfish Software. Borland’s consumer products segment was estimated to have less than $10 million in sales last year.
