Ventura police on Wednesday were searching for two men who robbed the Vons market on Harbor Boulevard, making off with cash from at least one register and the store safe.
Investigators said the two men entered the supermarket about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, approached the manager and ordered him at gunpoint to the store’s back office.
While one of the two suspects held the manager in his office, the other man robbed a store clerk, police said. Minutes later the two men ran out the front door and apparently escaped on foot, investigators said.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Police described the suspects as in their 30s, each about 5-foot-9. One suspect has a thin build and the other was described as stocky, police said.
