‘Chinatown’ Event to Aid Film Group

The L.A. County Museum of Art film department in association with the Los Angeles Film Critics Assn., Variety/Daily Variety and the Motion Picture Centennial Committee will present a screening of Roman Polanski’s “Chinatown” (1974) on Friday at 8 p.m. in the museum’s Bing Theater.
The screening will be preceded by a symposium moderated by LAFCA president Leonard Maltin of “Entertainment Tonight,” with invited panelists to include the film’s producer, Robert Evans; its writer, Robert Towne; and two of its actors, Diane Ladd and John Hillerman.
Admission for the symposium and the screening is $6; all proceeds will benefit LACMA’s film department.
