Zamora Does It Again as UCLA Rallies, Wins

Pete Zamora’s late heroics rescued UCLA again Saturday in an 11-10 victory over Arizona in a Pacific 10 Southern Division baseball game at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
Zamora, who started the game at first base, hit a two-out, two-run homer in the eighth inning and pitched the final 2 1/3 innings, retiring Arizona (16-28, 4-17) in order in the ninth to clinch it for UCLA (22-17, 10-11).
He did it on two groundouts and a strikeout. In the top of the second, Zamora made a diving catch at first with the bases loaded and two out to save three runs.
In Friday night’s game, Zamora hit a grand slam in the bottom of the ninth with two out and and the count 0-2 to give UCLA an 8-6 victory.
