California Amplifier Reports Earnings Rise

California Amplifier, a maker of microwave signal reception devices, reported a 58% increase in earnings on a 12% rise in sales for its fiscal year that ended March 4.
The Camarillo-based company posted net income of $2.45 million for the latest year, up from earnings of $1.56 million a year ago. Its annual sales increased 12% to $45.6 million compared with $40.6 million the year before.
During the fourth quarter, California Amplifier posted earnings of $780,000 compared with a net loss of $86,000 during the same three-month period a year earlier, while sales in the latest quarter rose 9% to $11.4 million, up from $10.5 million in the previous fourth quarter.
Ira Coron, chief executive officer, attributed California Amplifier’s improved performance to record sales of its wireless cable products.
