Ram Fans Do the Math, but They’re Not Happy With Answers They Get

Let me see if I have this right:
1. The well-meaning--if somewhat unsophisticated--people of St. Louis paid $73 million for so-called “personal seat licenses” (which allows them to pay millions more to actually get tickets), and that $73 million will go to the Rams.
2. The Rams will pay the NFL $73 million in bribes so that they will be allowed to move to St. Louis from Southern California.
3. The NFL will pay Al Davis $73 million toward the building of a new football stadium here in Southern California.
In honor of the good people of St. Louis, who will, in effect, be paying for a major portion of our new stadium, perhaps the place should be called . . .
The House That Rubes Built.

Correct me if I am wrong, but here is the way the money game works:
An NFL team is in a city where the owner doesn’t go after quality players. As the expenditures go down, so does the attendance. The team looks for a big-money offer from another city. The NFL gods vote no because they want to make money on the deal. The team offers more money to the NFL gods, a vote is taken--and so are the people of both cities. Did I get it right?
