COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Hawaii Pacific Beats SCC, Nears Softball Title

Hawaii Pacific moved within one victory of the NAIA Far West Regional softball title by defeating Southern California College, 2-0, Thursday in Costa Mesa.
Hawaii Pacific (26-8-1), the top-seeded team, will face the winner of today’s 11 a.m. elimination game between SCC and Azusa Pacific at 1:30 p.m. If Hawaii Pacific loses, there will be a rematch for the championship at 11 a.m. Saturday.
SCC (40-19) beat Azusa Pacific (34-18), 2-1, earlier Thursday.
In the NAIA Far West women’s tennis regional:
Le, Andel advance--Quynh Le and Wendy Andel of SCC advanced to the quarterfinals in singles and the semifinals in doubles at Costa Mesa Tennis Club. Westmont clinched the team title with 17 points. SCC is second with seven.
