THE COLLEGES : Guidorizzi Has 13 Strikeouts as Chapman Wins

Chapman’s Christy Guidorizzi walked the first batter she faced in the NCAA Division III softball regional, then struck out the next seven, and helped the Panthers to a 4-0 victory over Simpson (Iowa) Friday in Storm Lake, Iowa.

Guidorizzi finished with 13 strikeouts and gave up only one hit, a bloop single with one out in the seventh.

Chapman scored two in the first and two in the third. Lisa Cancilla was three for three and drove in a run for Chapman (38-5).

Chapman’s second game was postponed until today because of rain.
