Player-of-Year Award Shared by Granzow : Baseball: Outfielder from Faith Baptist hit 12 home runs, drove in 39 runs, scored 43.

Judd Granzow of Faith Baptist High, a fourth-round draft pick who recently signed with the Dodgers, has been named Southern Section Division V co-player of the year. Granzow shares the honor with St. Monica’s Carlos Casillas.
Granzow’s 12 home runs and 43 runs led the area. The senior outfielder batted .411 with 39 runs batted in.
Eight other area players were named to the All-Southern Section Division IV, V and VI teams.
In Division IV, Calabasas pitchers Brandon Cohen (10-0) and Jared Sandler (8-1) were chosen along with infielder Brett Niles. All are seniors. Cohen’s 0.45 earned-run average was the second lowest in the region behind Monroe’s Wayne Nix, who finished with an ERA of 0.39.
Sandler, who transferred from Montclair Prep after his junior year, batted .475 and led the Coyotes to the quarterfinals. Niles, a third baseman, batted .460 with 38 RBIs and 35 runs scored.
Joining Granzow on the All-Division V team are senior infielder Seth Barkley of L.A. Baptist, senior pitcher Jason Robitaille (10-2) of Village Christian and junior pitcher John Wilson (8-2) of L.A. Baptist.
Barkley, whose 45 RBIs led the region, batted .487 and hit eight home runs. Robitaille struck out 93 batters in 77 innings and Wilson batted .405 with six home runs and 32 RBIs.
In Division VI, junior infielder T.J. Jackson of Buckley and sophomore outfielder Eric Mobley of Antelope Valley Christian made the squad.
