Politics Cheapens Citizenship Rites

* The July 14 article about local residents becoming citizens by the busload was frustrating to me.
I was an immigrant almost three decades ago and became a citizen as soon as the law permitted because I love this country. I worked hard to prove my worth in being given an opportunity to be in this once-great country. On the day I was sworn in to become a citizen, I woke up early and brought myself to the site where I took my oath.
There are a significant number of people who need help, and I believe in helping, but what this group has done in providing bus service to the swearing-in ceremonies is not helping but spoiling these able-bodied people. And, it was done just so politicians can gain their votes in the future. What a disgusting motive. No wonder this country seems to be going to the dogs.
