* Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Inc. said its profit more than doubled to almost $1.7 million in the second quarter, when net sales were helped by a price increase and higher volume.
The premium ice cream maker, which is based in Waterbury, Vt., said net income rose 133% to $1.653 million, or 23 cents a share, from $714,000, or 10 cents a share, as net sales climbed 6% to $43 million.
