‘Battlefield’ Victory

The numerous news segments on TV about Hiroshima (the week of Aug. 6-12) consisted of little more than American veterans explaining how the Japs got what they deserved.

In contrast, the remarkable PBS series “Battlefield” analyzed six World War II battles and emphasized the incredible importance of accurate and reliable intelligence and surveillance information before and during a battle.

I watched “Battlefield” on PBS because of reommended viewing by Howard Rosenberg.

It was everything he said it was. It would be a crying shame if “Battlefield” does not receive an Emmy. The British are masters at producing documentaries.
