Communication Could Ease Tax Conflict
* I see where both the city of Burbank and the merchants are viewing problems with their new enhancement tax, and I think they both need to work together a little closer in their objective.
If city officials could lay down a detailed plan of their objective, with figures that show how much they are spending, what they plan on doing with the funds and when, and exactly how it will affect the merchant in bringing in revenue, then merchants will be more apt to partake in the process and may be less resistant.
On the other hand, merchants should be more involved by asking more specific questions about the funds, and allow the tax to do its thing.
If both parties would communicate with each other a little more about what they are having problems with, they might find themselves in a little more agreement than conflict.
