Simple Technology Acquires Rival Kelly Micro Systems

SANTA ANA — Simple Technology Inc., a fast-growing Santa Ana manufacturer of computer memory products, said Wednesday it acquired Kelly Micro Systems, a smaller rival in Irvine.

Terms of the acquisition were not released. Privately held Simple Technology, founded in 1990, said it had sales of about $100 million last year.

Kelly Micro, formerly a subsidiary of Arizona-based MicroAge Inc., did about $70 million in sales last year, according to Simple Technology, which will add about 40 Kelly Micro workers to its existing staff of 160.
